Arroyo Grande is a good spot - about 25 mins. north on 101.
FYI, the way the Santa Maria Joint Union High School District boundary is currently set up, all the "gang members" who live in NW Santa Maria, attend Pioneer Valley High School. But too be honest, I think the gang problem if there is one, is so small it's not even noticeable.

The towns between Lompoc and SB. You have Buellton which is a very nice town and a pretty small, or you can include Santa Ynez which is very hot in the Summer but very expensive place to live. Then there is Goleta which is also expensive. My guess is Buellton is the cheapest place, but even Buellton isn't very cheap. All those towns are nice if you could afford it.

Race notwithstanding, if you got into ANY ivy league schools with those typos and an obvious misunderstanding of how to communicate clearly, then you have a real need to go back to not only high school, but elementary as well.

You're a poser, if I've ever seen one! Don't get on this site and LIE about who you are!
