Default Possible move to Ukiah, CA from AZ

I"m originally from the Bay Area, but I've been living in Flagstaff, AZ for the last 3 years. Recently had my first baby and want to move back to Northern CA to be closer to family. Thinking of Ukiah or the surrounding area. I already know it's going to be pricey, but I'm looking for a nice smaller town to raise my kids. I'm in Accounting and don't think I'd have a problem finding a job there. I heard Clear Lake has turned into a dump so I've decided against that area. Anyone have any suggestions?

Check out Chico CA. It is further inland by about 4 hours, but the homes there are not as expensive. It is a neat university town with tons of culture and art. Lots of Bay area residents have migrated to Chico.
