I went to In-N-Out Burger for the first time just last week when I was in San Diego for a conference. I have to say that it's the best fast food I have ever had in my life (the fries were amazing)! I would give anything to have them here in Austin but I don't know if that will ever happen.

Kettleman City was my I-5 gas up point before the Grapevine. I knew exactly how long I was from SF or LA when I got to Kettleman City. And when they put in INO, it became more of a destination.
I had my first INO in 1992 and now that I have moved from CA my wife and I crave the #2 as soon as we visit. I have a friend who moved out also who buys an INO t-shirt evertime he goes to take it home.
When I skied Tahoe, the trip was not complete without a stop at INO on the way home

I agree about the fries, not super impressed, but iI believe they slice the fries from potatoes fresh, so they're probably better for you than the other FF places. Love In N Out, but the best fast food I've ever had was while I was travelling through the mid -west. A place called Culver's Butter Burgers and Custard. When they eventually make it out west, I think INO is gonna have some competion.

INO in TX
I live in West TX, so that puts me closer to the AZ INO's. But we do go there when we are in CA. Yes, the fries rock!

Also just how the company is ran and how much they pay their employees and treat them as well is what sets INO apart from other fast food places. I worked at INO for 2.5 years in high school and my store manager made over $120k a year back in 2001, no fast food joint pays that much. You get what you pay for and INO has the best employees of any fast food joint.

I know this is blasphemy coming from a native Californian, but Culver's Butter Bugers and Frozen Custard at least equals INO, if not better. I would need to eat there again. I only had the opportunity a few times. They are a big chain in the mid-west. I remember thinking, "this is better than In-N-Out" the three times I ate there in three different cities. I do agree about the employees, the company and the prices. Until I'm told different, INO can't be beat in that regard.

INO is great but I'm sure other states have their own version of INO just as good, maybe even better. I've never heard of Culver's Butter Burgers and Frozen Custard, but just the name sounds good, haha!

I was born and raised in SoCa, but have lived in other states. When we lived out of Ca In N Out was always one of the few things in Ca we missed. No other burger comes close. Even the most notable burger stands outside of Ca can't come close. Anyone else agree?

I sit on a committee that hosts a fundraiser each year for the hospital that I work at in Ventura, CA. The hospitals yearly "Gold Dust Gala". The main draw for the event is a country music act. We have had Toby Kieth (twice), Randy Travis, Tracy Bird, Restless Heart, Emerson Drive, Phil Vasser (three times), Mark Chestnut and a few other acts. Just down the road from the fair grounds where the event is held is the local In and Out. These guys could eat anywhere and most of the band members choose to have us take them through the drive through the day of the event. Most because they don't have the chance to get out here as often as they like. On a national level, it seems that most of the acts we have had prefer In and Out to any other fast food place nation wide. At least that is what they say.
My first taste was when I was working constuction back in 1987. Our supervisor for the job went out to get us some food. By the time he got back the Burgers were cold and the fries were not worth eating. I didn't go back till 2001 in Ventura. My wife and I usually have a couple shakes and split a burger every couple months or so. Got to keep the weight off.

When we were driving out to California in May, we sampled Texas' Whattaburger as well as In N Out Burger. Half our party preferred Whattaburger, and the other half preferred INO. Of course, these two restaurants were in two different cities on two different days.
I was of the INO camp - we eat there as often as possible - it is really as good as the hype. It's almost as cheap as McDonald's, and the food quality is awesome! Fresh, whole foods - what a concept - I love INO.

Get Culverized: Experience fresh, delicious food served with a great big side of friendly smiles and warm hospitality.
Anybody with money want to bring it to CA? I see they made AZ. They may have tweak their co. description. Like to pride themselves on using only Wisconsin cheese. I don't know how our happy cows will take that?
