Question Is Stockton nice?

I sometimes watch the local news (I'm in Sacramento) and I notice Stockton is always talked about. I'm wondering... is Stockton nice? What's there to do in Stockton? I have also heard a lot of parts has more illegal aliens than citizens - is this true? What's Stockton like?

Parts are very nice and parts are pretty ugly. Take a drive someday.

Maybe some parts are nice to look at, but to live? A cesspool IMO. Put it this way I wll not drive thru Stockton, at all. I go around. Too much crime too much ugliness.

It's the foreclosure capital of California. What does that tell you.? If you want to pick up an (overpriced) property at reduced rates and hope that things turn around , Stockton would be your place but you'd better check it out thoroughly. The problem is not illegal aliens, it's scummy people, illegal and not. Also neighborhoods with too many empty houses. Now that Sacramento prices have gone down, why not check out Sacramento where EVERYTHING is better than Stockton?. That having been said, the drive between Sac and Stockton on Stockton Blvd, the old hiway, is an amazing experience. Miles of Asian stores and restaurants- like a cheap trip to Asia. THAT part is wonderful.
