In the city of Los Angeles, I would say the old-money areas of upscale Hancock Park and Windsor Square are much more down to earth than some of the fancier areas to the west.

Can anyone recommend an area that is more laid back and less botox, two cheek kissing, have to drive/wear/eat what my neighbors are to keep up appearances-type places? No offense meant to people that live their lives that way...it's just not me and not something I aspire to. I don't have to be right on the water, but like moderate weather if that helps.

Thanks for any help!

Malibu...(Point Dume) Very Laid back. I ride my Harley wear jeans and old tee`s 90% of the time, work on my cars in the drive, have loud partys and drink too much. As I said Laid Back.
Yep there are big cars with black windows, just wave and smile It`s not a requirement to have one.
