Default Moving to CA-- Probably Santa Barbara. Good for High School Students or No?

My family and I are quite possibly moving to Santa Barbara from out east. We are from California and Colorado originally. I would be a junior in high school when we make the move and my siblings would be a senior and a 7th grader. Any helpful comments, either posotive or negative, about the move? Are there any other Southern California areas like SB that would be better to move to? How is the education system there?

Thank you!

It depends which part of Santa Barbara you're moving to. Check out the CA school performance map for an idea. It's listed on this forum or you can google it.

Santa Barbara is pretty nice, has to be one of the nicest places to live in the world. North of SB is SLO, smaller, but a nice community near the coast, also has to be one of the nicest places to live anywhere. schools? not sure. Morro Bay High is SLO County is a quality school.

Goleta is great, it's just a little north of SB. Has a great beach, close to UCSB. It is one of my favorite places. They have a awesome school district, 2 of my grandsons just graduated from Dos Pueblos this year, very large high school with a great curriculum. There's not alot of big department stores in Goleta, but Santa Barbara has a bunch and it's not far at all, probably 10 min. on the freeway, if that. I'd check it out, you might just find it's the perfect place. Good Luck
