new to oxnord (Oxnard: rental, crime, schools)

I will be moving to oxnord shortly. i am married and have a 3 yr old boy.Since i am new, need some guidance on,
cost of livivng, a two bed room flat, living expenses, food, culture,and mainly educaion.how does the place sounds like?
I am quite conserned about crime rate?
Pls advice.

There's no city called, "oxnord" in California. There is a city called Oxnard which is largely Hispanic immigrants. Many work in the fields and in agriculture. The schools are pretty horrible, and there are city-wide gang problems. Some parts are nicer than others.

Oxnard has a reputation for crime, but it doesn't live up to its bad name. North and west Oxnard are safe and nice. The problem areas include Colonia (central Oxnard) and Southwinds (aka south Oxnard, Saviers Road).

True, false, true.

Public schools' scores are low, particularly elementary. Gang problem is NOT city wide. Some parts are definitely nicer than others.
