If you threw in the thousands of illegals who worked in home construction, the rate would probably be over 8%.

It's just getting worse. And Asia and Europe are slowing now too.

Over 9% of homeowners are either behind on payments or going into foreclosure now nationwide. It's probably more like 20% in California.

Your link just answered a huge question for me.

I live/work next door in Arizona and, despite the official unemployment rate being ca. 6%-----------it feels much higher. Our biggest difference is that the illegal immigrants here are self deporting at a dizzying rate; if said illegals were US citizens/green card holders--------------I bet our unemployment rate would be above 8%.
