Default How is the real estate market in Calaveras County

Hi folks...curious if anyone has any first hand news about selling or buying homes in Calaveras County? If so, what town or towns would have the most desireable addresses? Is there a price range that seems to be moving houses more than others. Thanks for the info.

Calaveras County has 6 distinct real estate markets, Copperopolis, Valley Springs, Arnold, Angels Camp/Murphys, San Andreas/Mokelumne Hill and West Point/Mountain Ranch. They are all quite widely different in their market appeal. Copper and VS tend to appeal to folks who commute to Stockton, Arnold is for folks who like to live at a higher altitude and Angels seems to be more for the retired crowd who like to have lots of amenities. WP and MR are more for the retired folks who don't want to see their nearest neighbor.

Price wise, the market in MY area is active in the $300K and under with very little happening in the over $500K market. Copper and VS seem to be experiencing more foreclosure activity than the rest of the county.

Now that that picture is painted with a VERY broad brush, the real secret is finding out what YOU want.
