CenCal2009 is on a distinguished road
Not sure if you are still looking on Central Coast. Reply to me at for some information about Lake Nacimiento near paso Robles. I have a lot that I am going to be building a house to sell that would be ready next year. It will be selling for less than 350K

A friend lives in Goleta/ SB and the airport there has flights to Phoenix, SFO and LA. Then you can link up with other flights globally.

I love old threads!

If I were to move to the Central Coast knowing what I know as a life long Central Coast resident. If you like going to lakes and rural living, SLO north county would be nice, especially with Nacimiento and San Antonio lakes.

If you're retiring, and not much for the outdoor scene. Maybe south SLO County like Nipomo, Arroyo Grande would be nice. In the Santa Barbara County, Orcutt would be a nice place to live. You can buy a quality home in Orcutt for $350.00, especially now.

Like many have said, the town of SLO is too expensive. Santa Maria has grown in population and might not be the best choice, but you could get the most bang for your buck as far as housing goes, you can buy a nice house in a nice neighborhood for less then $350.00.

True, it is good for fishing, but, sailing out of Port San Luis is great. Lots of water west of Pismo.
