But I sure am jealous of you who manage to do it. One more question if you dont mind. If you are driving from Atascadero to Morro Bay on 41, about halfway between the 2 towns, on the north side of the road, there used to be a little bitty greasy spoon diner where you could also get a cold beer. They had a great breakfast. Is it still there? Thanks!

It seems that way, with regard to Paso after the earthquake. I've always thought Paso's downtown was charming, very walkable mid-western feel. Paso's downtown now is out of site. I'm vey impressed with what they did. Especially the area around the park, they did a great job.

How far are Paso/Atascadero from beaches or surfing? How far from Morro Bay?

About 30 minutes. Hard to surf in Morro, better for scuba diving.

Atascadero is kinda like the Emerald City! It sits out by itself and if you follow the yellow line from SLO you will end up there. They have a great town hall that would be wonderful for the Great OZ abode!

Hey, love all the banter about which is the 'hic' city in the greater 5, but none of you have really delved into the schools. I've read the reviews on greatschools.com but that doesn't always give you perspective. How about the real story? Gangs?

Gangs are not a problem. There are a few morons, but organized criminals is a contradiction in terms for the County.

I want a job at the In-and-Out. I figure it would be very worth it as i visit there so often anyway!
On another note, how do we gwt our own Forum for the Central Coast? I get tired of wading through the full California coments to get the nuggets of the CC. Heck, even Sacto has it's own!
