Ridgecrest schools (elementary schools, college, moving to)

I have considered moving to ridgecrest, however looking at the school scores I have to admit I have second thoughts. What is going on with the scores? Do they have different system then on the east coast??? In VA Beach the points are 90's and ridgecrest maybe 30's. Web sites I used schoolmatters.com Please people advise

Only one school had scores under 5; Most had scores 6-8.

The schools are very good, some of the highest in the county. If your student is college prep, the high school offers a range of AP courses and honors courses. The system is different from the East Coast. At Great Schools.com, Burroughs High School is rated a 9 out of 10. According to the State of California, we are an 8. Most of the elementary schools are also upper tier schools. We have a number of California Distinguished schools as well.
