With all due respect I have responded to most of your claims with information as to why it wouldn't be so. You have yet to follow up an provide an evidence that what I'm saying is incorrect in any way. Just because I disagree with you does not mean that I "put my fingers in my ears and say, "la la la la"". I took the courtesy of reading what you were saying and responding to your claims carefully and with facts, neither of which were further responded to, you have proceeded to then continue the same thing without even addressing any of my points. That is not how adults I know have conversations.
This is why I stopped arguing with her. I was never once abusive, never called a name, and was perfectly logical with her, but every question I asked and every point I made was pointedly ignored.

She has also refused to answer logical questions put her way. I feel that most of us have been mature adults in this discussion. I am joining the protest for equality this Saturday, rain or shine. So far over 250,000 people have signed the pledge to "come out" on Saturday for EQUALITY. Though we will all be in different cities, we will all be in each others hearts and minds. Peace and Equality for ALL this year, that is what I want for the holiday season.
I previously didn't give a darn about prop 8. I'd like to have the govt out of the marriage business altogether. Then people can do what they want without the govt's consent or control.
BUT, the left's usage of the courts to overturn popular votes is getting on my nerves. They keep yammering about the majority telling the minority what they can and cant do. Well guess what? The majority also tells me that I cannot carry a concealed weapon in L.A., They tell property owners that they are under the control of rent control boards. They tell those of us who pay property tax for schools that even if we send our kids to private school because the public schools suck and are dangerous that we still have to pay for the public schools. They also voted to increase the sales tax that I dont want to pay.
It's this arrogance that is pissing me off. If a prop8 measure is ever on the ballot again I will vote yes only because of this arrogance from the left.
What I have discovered is that the No on Prop 8 supporters are incapable of having an adult conversation. They only want people to say, "Poor baby, the big bad Mormons took away your rights". They can't fathom that there are people who saw the writing on the wall and voted Yes to protect the churches from the very attacks that are going on now. The No on People stick their fingers in their ears and say, "la la la la" the way children do whenever they are being told something they don't want to hear. They believe their point of view is the ONLY one that counts. They have absolutely NO interest in finding out WHY the vote went the way it did and correcting the problem. They are reacting emotionally and lashing out thinking that a temper tantrum will change people's minds.
This thread won't be shut down because it's an issue near and dear to the Mods. The Prop 4 thread was mysteriously shut down and those conversations weren't nearly as vile or filled with personal attacks as this one.

The examples you gave of the majority deciding the rights of the minority didn't make any sense. You weren't born a gun owner, your kids weren't born with the knowledge that they must go to private school. You're comparing to choices to biology. People are born gay and should have the same rights as the rest of us. As far as I'm concerned, bans on gay marriage should NEVER be on the ballot anywhere. It's wrong to let the white, Christian majority determine morals for the rest of us. So I don't mind that the courts will overturn this, it shouldn't be in your hands (or my hands for that matter) to make a decision that doesn't affect you at all but could take away the rights of someone else.
