Leaving California because of Prop 4
I will never understand why people in the State of California are so against parents being parents to their children. Just because there are a very small minority of Parents who are abusive doesn't mean that responsible parent should be penalized. The defeat of Prop 4 makes it easier for organizations with a political agenda to take advantage of a child when she needs people who love and care about her the most. It also makes it easier for predators to cover up evidence of sex with a minor. I wonder if the people who voted against parents thought about these things or if they simply decided that the child and the impact this will have on her isn't as important as protecting abortion rights.
I'll be moving to a State that will support ME being a parent to my child as opposed to an organization that considers her as little more than a file.

It's the left. They want everybody to get abortions. They want to brainwash chlidren, but parents like you get in the way. You will assimilate.

I never understood why a minor should be allowed to make responsible medical decisions. Minors often make wrong decisions (such as getting knocked up in the first place). I think the parents should know since they will be the ones (or their insurance company) who will pick up the medical bill.

I voted no on 4, not to take away the rights of the parents, but because having the parents give consent further legitimizes abortion on demand.

I don't understand it myself, why in the world would a parent not want to be notified? A school cannot give a child an asprin without parents concent but the child can have an abortion, thats just the stupidest thing I've ever heard of.

I dont understand your thinking. A child is more likely to get an abortion without parental consent. Am I missing something in your argument?

Prop 4 wasn't about consent. It was about NOTIFICATION. A parent would not have had the right to say no a minor couldn't have an abortion, they would have simply been told about and given 48 hours before hand to counsel her.

You are amazed prop 4 failed (for the THIRD time in FOUR YEARS btw) and I'm amazed Prop 8 passed, same difference there.
But don't pretend you're leaving CA b/c of Prop 4, you were leaving already and the sooner the better. You will be moving to a state that ranks at the bottom for pretty much everything; education, health, etc... so good luck with all that.
