Great info... I drove up PCH once early 90s, it was wonderful. I hit the Laguna Seca Indy car race. Excellent. Beats Daytona 500 a mile...

I'm going back there one day!

Zaney..
Why would you and fellow residents allow gangs to ruin your town?If I lived in a place like Montecito..the Police Chief and Mayor would do something.....fast.If they are guilty..they go to jail.I do not understand?
Now what is this doing to home sales?

Montecito is also beautiful with huge mansions in the hills and fantastic views of the Pacific Ocean. It is warmer than Carmel. I think Santa Barbara has more to offer than Monterey.
Carmel Beach once or twice a year has a "Build a Sand Castle Contest". They make some pretty neat artistic structures.

There is something about the sand on Carmel beach that is quite different than other California beaches. Probably the nicest sand on the West coast though I have no idea why.

Carmel and Carmel Valley are just about perfect but Montecito is also quite beautiful and Santa Barbara is a real classy city.
