Good luck with the winters. I live in Mass and it is in the single digits today (with the wind chill). Maine will be sub-zero's today I promise. Think twice before moving to New England. I am regretting it every day for the past 2 years.

Did you check out the surrounding areas of Charlotte?? Much better than even thinking about Charlotte itself.
