It is a nearly useless statistics display.
It is based on tax returns filed. The problem is that there has been a huge influx of people in to calif that do not file tax returns.
I'd guess that at least 10% of people in calif get paid under the table and therefore do not file returns. Personally, I know legal people here who do not file returns.

Good luck with the winters. I live in Mass and it is in the single digits today (with the wind chill). Maine will be sub-zero's today I promise. Think twice before moving to New England. I am regretting it every day for the past 2 years.

Did you check out the surrounding areas of Charlotte?? Much better than even thinking about Charlotte itself.

Most Californians have gone to Texas in numbers where the economy is doing well.

That is one of the primary reasons I moved from Boston. I figured if I'm going to pay 1k in rent I might as well get easy beach access, cheap beer, and good weather out of it.

Sorry your move didn't work out for you. Actually Maine (Portland area) will range from a low today of 18 to a high of 31. Cold - yes. Unbearable - nope!

Well, we looked a little bit at the triangle area and touched on Asheville. Are you referring to a specific area???

In the past decade it has been AZ, NV and TX in the southwest. ID, UT, and CO in the intermountain west. You got WA n OR in the Pac northwest. And rounding out the top ten are GA and, yes, SC in the south.
