The obvious things:

1) the weather - not too hot, not too cold.
2) the topography - everything from mountains to deserts to beautiful coastal areas with interesting cities - and all fairly close by.

(Hasn't this thread been done before?)

+1. You can surf and snowboard at the same time. And to add the amount of jobs with very diverse industries from entertainment to biotech to military to technology. It can literally be its only country (ranked behind France) because of the economy.

ppl that seem to start fires, either accidently or otherwise, it's just sad and so much distruction...
