Default How can one commute within San Francisco city without any problem?

I am going on a holiday in San Francisco with my family for a week. I have booked the tickets and the hotel rooms too. But what I am worried about is how to commute within the city… and frankly, I hate going around with maps in hand. Can anyone suggest some ideas?

It's not recommended driving around San Francisco holding a street map in front of your face . Parking, especially in the tourist areas, is almost non-existent or very expensive.

Getting around by bus, light rail and cable car would be your best option and maps and info are available. It's not that hard to get the hang of the system. Daily and weeekly passes are available and would be the cheapest way to go. I live in the suburbs and haven't driven in SF in years. It's much easier to take public transit around the city.

Another option is to take bus tours around SF. They let you out at the usuall places to see the sights and take pictures.

For more responses, you should have put this in the San Francisco forum.
