Where to move in Cali?!
Hey everyone,
I am 22 y/o and will be graduating from nursing school in 08' and I am interested in moving to Houston. I'm a Brooklyn, Ny girl. I grew up here all my life. I live in a pretty diverse, urban, gentrified area..(park slope/prospect heights), if anyone is familiar. Anyway, can anyone recommend a cool, multicultural, young, hip kind of place to live in Cali, that is not too expensive? Somewhere with a artsy kind of flair to it and a beach near by. Also somewhere a single girl my age would feel comfortable and safe. Just to give you a bit of an idea of the kind of personality I have..
Im eccelctic, love the SUN and humidity , have natural kinky hair, love foriegn and indie films, my fav stores are urban outfitters and american apparel,my fav foods are italian and spanish,...I also plan on joining doctors w/o borders after a two year working stint in cali...(feels like im trying to catch a date instead of find a place to live lol)
So if anybody has any idea of what I am talking about here..give me a shout out!
Thank
p.s. I am looking to rent..

California is a big state. Where do you want to live? North/South/Mountains?

What amount of rent are you willing to pay? There are lots of places that meet your description--right up until you said "not too expensive." Coastal cities with lots of fun going on ARE expensive. So, how much rent can you afford?

OK. Beach with sun can be expensive. I don't know. It's not overly multicultural, but I think you'd like San Luis Obispo. Maybe Santa Cruz too.

You should also research Austin, TX. The vibe there seems to match your personality well, and the weather is nice and warm .
