Born in HI during Korean War when dad was stationed there. But he was a native Californian as was his mother (born in Dos Palos in 1906). My mom was born in Merced in 1928, to immigrant parents from the Azores. Since I was three months old, I've lived in CA.

Born in HI at the height of the Vietnam war, while my Dad was stationed there with the Navy. I lived in CA from 1980-1985 and 1988-2008. Now I live in Colorado, but I think I'm still technically a CA resident since my tags don't expire until August. So I mad it in just under the wire for being able to vote on this poll.
My father and mother were both born and raised in CA - South SF Bay and Peninsula, but never lived there more than three years as adults. Before them, my family was in Colorado and in the midwest for many generations.

Born in L.a. the hospital I have heard is long gone. I spent most of my childhood and some of my adult years in the general L.a. area, but lived all over the state until we left about 25 years ago.

Why the emphasis? It hardly means anything anymore bacause my Mom could have ran 100 yards across the border and had me which makes me a US Citizen. Woohooo born in CA.

Born in San Diego, thanks to the military. Raised in Newport Beach when I wasn't being raised in another state or country, thanks to the military. Attended college and lived in California when I wasn't stationed in another state or overseas, thanks again to the military. Moved back to California in 1978 and have been in Sacramento since 1990.
Leaving for good very soon! Military not involved!
