Recommend me a college city
Hi,
I am so lost. I live in North Dakota and after almost 23 years of my life, I have decided to leave this -40 degree windchill'd area for some sun and excitement.
I want to transfer to a university in (Southern) California, but I don't know where.
I guess I am asking is: where is a decent place for someone my age looking to finish college? Even if you guys could just recommend a couple of places, that would be fine. I can do the rest of the research.
I really appreciate any help. Also, if there is anything important I should know... thanks!

Want to be in the big city or not? Going to need a job or finance the whole thing? Does dry desert heat bother you? Etc

ASU (Arizona State). I knew quite a few people from North Dakota who went there.

Preferably bigger city.
I won't need a job.
I'm looking for 70-80 degree weather, not 110 degrees.

I am thinking about California, not Arizona.

Are your grades good? Can you afford out-of-state tuition? Most state schools are getting a lot tougher with admissions these days. But for 70-80 degree weather, some possibilities include San Diego State and UC San Diego. (The UC schools will generally be more expensive and harder to get into)
You also need to find an institution where your credits will transfer easily.

Adriatica,
Grades: They're OK, 3.4 GPA
Money: Yes
I think you helped me decide not to move to California, though. Thanks for the advice everyone!

Although earn more than most people around where I live now, I can't help but think about how much less you get for how much more (in California). If I moved to San Diego, for example, how much does a modern-looking, two bedroom apartment in a safe neighborhood go for?
