Need help choosing a .22 rifle
Hey folks, those of you who still believe in the 2nd amendment in this state, I need some feedback. What is your favorite plinker model and what have you paid for the gun? I'm looking for a very reliable fun to shoot gun in semi-auto, lever or bolt. Thanks in advance. How much worse will prices go in January???

You can never go wrong with a Rugar 1022, semi auto and I've never had one jam, I have two, there are different models mainly just the stock style but some do have target barrels, I added a synthetic stock and a target barrel to one of mine and it;\'s easy to do yourself. Have fun

I have a few, had a couple Rugers but let them go. They come in a few different configs, heavy bull barrel, lever, 22 magnum. The Ruger is easy to add to, just a few screws with no set up. My fav had a checkered stock that classed it up.
My current favorite is a Winchester 94/22 lever action got it for $200. I have a matching 94 in 44mag.
A fine Browning BLR in 22 and one in 308 Winchester.
My wife has a Marlin 22

A third vote for the Ruger 10/22. A brand new one should set you back about $230 plus all those stupid fees and taxes you have in CA. Gosh I don't regret never having to jump through those hoops again.
I do prefer my Ruger Ranch Rifle for "plinking" though.

Nevergoingback...is the Ruger Ranch the Mini 14? .223 Cal? I know a lot of people have liked that gun. Anyone that has a Ruger 10/22 swears by them.

ferretkona, who is Winchester now? Didn't they go under or were bought out last year? I am intrigued by a lever .22 just because. Already have a bolt and semi auto, so just looking for an excuse to pick up another gun.

I understand they are still making shotguns only. US Repeating Arms still owns them, they only closed the New Haven plant. Special edition rifles and limited series are still being made in Japan.

I bought my 94/22 back in 1989
