That's the funniest, most politically correct yet still politically incorrect racist comment I have read in a while. My head is still spinning from trying to figure it out.
As far as I'm concerned, these people can't move out of the state fast enough.

My point was that I dont have to stay broke here to live quite well. What sells for $500,000 in California i can buy here for half as much. If you think the cost of living is worth paying to say you live in California or so you can be near a beach, more power to you! I'm happy for you. The profit I made from selling my California home and the MUCH lower cost of living here in Tennessee will help me in my old age alot more than a beach will. And besides, we have no shortage of beautiful landscapes right here in Dixie!

And I'm really happy for you, I'm not being sarcastic either. I sincerely mean that. You have to do what's best for you, and what makes you happy.

My point is that a lot of us will keep our high housing costs because we value everything else that comes with it in this beautiful state. I'd love to have a lot of acres myself, but not at the expense of giving up all there is to do here in California, not at the expense of the best weather in the nation at least here in San Diego where I live, etc.

I can't say I would never leave California again one day, I've done it before. There's a reason why I returned though, the cost of living is killer but I truly believe you get what you pay for depending on what part of the state you live in. So I think we can both agree more power to eachother right?

For you, perhaps, but there is a point worth noting that living near the Pacific coast means fresh, clean air most of the time. I have a feeling that it alone will help me in my old age. My father, who lived 50 miles inland with significantly more polluted air -- but at a much lower cost of housing -- died from a respiratory illness way before his time. I tried many times to get him to sell his house and buy something smaller in spot with better air, but to no avail. Now he's forever missed.

LA and OC are right on the coast and have some of the worst air quality in the country.
