They all died, I believe it got too cold there. But, they grow avocadoes at Cal Poly, so go figure? Anyway, yes it can be done somewhere in SLO Co. Somewhere there is some perfect micro-climate.
I don't kayak. I should take it up since I live here. But, I'd have to say Morro Bay/Los Osos. With Morro Bay, you have the option to kayak in the bay or out in the ocean. Same with Los Osos, you can kayak in the back bay or go out to Montana De Oro.

Thanks for the info.
Yes, it does seem to be all about micro-climates. I will have to check SLO County to see if you have a Farm Bureau. I bet with all the agriculture in the area you should have one. And, isn't Cal Poly an Aggie school?
I remember someone on here saying that.
And, kayacking is a great sport. It really develops the upper body which we tend to not use in our later years. Do kayacks for upper body and biking for the legs and you will live a long life. Oh yeah, eat your avocados, use olive oil and drink a glass of red wine everyday.
I wonder if anyone has charted how many 100 year olds live in SLO? I will have to check census data or some such for that. With the climate and clean air it has to be a very healthy place to live.
