Most off road / ATV friendly area between SoCal / Central Coast
Hey all, im going to have a few weeks to venture out in cali and look around, hopefully to find some property. I also (of course) want to drive around a bit more and get a better feel for some of the areas i havent been to. However my question is this, what in your opinion would be the most friendly area for ATV's, dirtbikes, off road enthusiasts? I love riding and havent had a chance in a long time to do so, I'd like to find an area thats quite active with this, and to be around folks who feel the same. I'd really like something near the coast but im open to ideas, shoot away. I heard that the Riverside area is quite involved with this but im not positive yet if i'd want to be around that location, ill have to do some more research on that. If you want to get particular, somewhere between LA and SLO I suppose, but like i said any help is appreciated. thanks

The Anza-Borrego desert state park about 1.5 hours north east of San Diego.
Just do a search for it on Youtube.

I've been away from California for a few years now but I believe there are still a few areas in Riverside and San bernardino counties open for riding.
Also check out Ocotillo Wells (east San Diego County), Hungry Valley (north of L.A.) and/or Glamis Dunes (Imperial County).

atv friendly and California should not be in the same sentence.
Pismo is ok during the week but any weekend or Holliday it's a ZOO.
The deserts east of Riverside offer the most Legal area to ride.
Clear Creek ohv area west of Coalinga has been closed to make the enviro groups happy.
Get a Dirt motorcycle with a License plate and ride the dirt roads is the only way to explore without a getting some fine or ticket.
