Somehow I made it all these years without ever hearing of this show.

So the only information I could find on Christine Lund is she moved to Alaska and is running a store in some remote place. Supposedly she's the only person that lives there all year. Hard to believe. But even the LA Times writes that. Bizarre.

Oh, how cool, Dr. George!! I forgot about him! Thanks for posting that video.

Thanks also for the link for Wolfman Jack. It reminded me of those great sixties LA radio stations, especially Boss Radio, 93KHJ! They produced some albums with the top hits of the day, one of which, "30 Boss Goldens," was played to death in our house. I have never found it being reissued, but some kind soul who also loved the album has a website with info about the album, including bios of the DJs, and mp3s of all the songs here: 93/KHJ: Boss Music

I was also strolling down Disneyland memory lane a few nights ago. I went often, especially during my high school years. It seemed like we always had access to "party nights,", where companies would buy out Disneyland for their employers and families for the evening. (Do they still do that?) This was really cool as there were so few people there, no lines, and NO TICKETS! That was a really big deal then, before general admission, not having to worry about using up all your E-tickets. You could ride the bobsleds and rocket jets (this was pre-Space Mountain) over and over all night.

In all the years I went to Disneyland, I associated only one actual human being with the park - the ragtime piano player at the Carnation ice cream parlor. His name was Rod Miller, and he just retired in 2006 after 37 years. He was so fun, and played wonderful ragtime piano. I found this great video of him, you may recognize him:

Thanks again to all for your posts here, you trigger so many great memories.

Shut up. Those are precious L.A. memories from a station that now plays circus music and speaks in tongues.
