Default recommendations where to live in Fresno

hi there, just wanted opinions re: different neighborhoods in fresno. I may be moving to the area. How is the traffice in and out of downtown fresno from clovis? how is clovis as a place to live? I have no kids and only 2 cats. We're gonna rent first and then maybe buy something if something catches our eye?

Clovis is nice but you will find it a family oriented town. School activities, childrens sports teams like soccer, church activites, etc. dominate things. Clovis has one of the lowest crime rates in California. The commute to downtown Fresno is easy if you are close to Freeway 168.

Actually most commutes in the Fresno/Clovis area to downtown are under 30 minutes.

Another area to explore would be north Fresno, check out rentals near Cedar/Shepherd like the Dominion Courtyard.

I'd also look around the RiverPark area. A couple of apartments to consider would be River Park Place.
Welcome to Fresno Supreme

There are some rentals close to downtown. Just north of the museums are new loft apartments that have been popular with 20 somethings.

I'd look at 93720 and the eastern parts of 93711.

I lived in an apartment complex right near Blackstone and Nees (Windscape, I think it was) and commuted downtown and LOVED it. Very close to River Park and just a hop onto freeway 41 in the mornings to get to work. Great place to live. Near everything I needed.

Clovis is a very nice place to live. Any apartment near highway 168 will be an easy shot to downtown. There are nicer apartments near 168 and Fowler and 168 and Bullard (these would be close to Old Town Clovis). But I agree with FresnoFacts that it's more of a family-oriented atmosphere.

If you're single or married without kids, I'd recommend the River Park area for sure.

I forgot about Windscape Apts, that is the same area as River Park Place, along Nees west of Blackstone.

That area west of RiverPark has developed nicely. At Palm and Nees is a new shopping center with an upscale gym (GB3), shops, and restaurants/bars. It compliments RiverPark at Blackstone and Nees.

I agree with the others, but will add, if you are looking for something closer to downtown and/or a more walkable type neighborhood, try the Tower District. I think that is 93704. Maybe 93705.

Wow, some of those are impressive and for the area the pricing isn't too bad.
