Lake Tahoe in the summer??
Hey guys just wondering what is Lake Tahoe like during the summer? I'm an Irish student and will be looking to come over to work, hopefully doing something outdoors, but if not in a bar. I would like to ask what is it like here in the summer for jobs, nightlife, is it expensive?
Also i would hope that there wouldnt be loads of other irish students there, and would like to ask anyone who's been there in the summer did they run into many irish ppl?
Also, and this may sound stupid or even a bit rude, but what are the women there like? I found that in many places i've been to in california the women i met didnt seem to care to much for the irish, perhaps because there were a lot of irish students living in the town i stayed in. Having an irish accent seemed to be either good or bad depending where u went tho! Would it be like that here? Thanks for all the help.

I haven't worked there in the summer but have visited and didn't notice very many Irish people. I did see a lot of Russian people. It isn't that expensive but there also isn't too much of a night life it's sort of a small place and secluded. It is more of a family vacation spot. I'm sure though that the people that work over there have their little places they go out to but they are probably limited. You would make more money working in a bar, most of the outdoor stuff were things like renting bikes to people, horseback riding, and small boat cruises since it's known more for it's winter outdoor stuff. And it seemed like mostly guys with a small amount of girls. Everyone there was good looking though if that counts for anything. Good luck the tourist industry is tanking right now, when we went to Tahoe for spring it was a ghost town. I'm sure summer is more popular but still dying down a little.

The original post was on 1/22/09.
For some reason, some people like to respond to really old posts when, in most cases, the o.p. is long gone.
