Default "Just where would you Go?" Poll

Curious about all the folks who say they are on the verge of leaving California. What state and town would you go to? And for what reasons? What is holding you back from leaving the state?

*Headed for San Antonio, TX

*Because we have connections there, we like military towns, we like warm weather, we like a place steeped in history with a diverse population, the COL is low, and it gets three times more rain, on average, than our present city

*Still working on the employment situation- as soon as the job offer is accepted, the move will commence

I moved to Phoenix from Orange County. I hate Phoenix and now I'm trying to move back to SoCal.

I had three jobs, not because I couldn't afford my rent, but I had a piece of sh*t car that I kept dumping money into instead of, you know, buying a new car. Ran up my credit card, moved in with my parents and got a job thanks in part to my mother.

I have no girlfriend/fiance/wife, no kids and except for my college loan and car payments, no real financial obligations.

I'm kind of a moron.

Going back to the Pittsburgh area in June. Many things I don't like about living here in SoCal, but I won't dwell on them; I try to make the most out of wherever I live. I just miss my friends and family, miss the friendliness and generosity of the people in Pittsburgh. I miss all four seasons, including the snowy cold ones. I want to have a Primanti sandwich with the fries and coleslaw inside. I miss having low rent. etc etc etc.....

Can't wait to come through at the other side of the Fort Pitt Tunnel and see the fantastic Pittsburgh skyline once more.

Well that is the Million $$ question.

Most recent RE forecasts say it has got to get worst before it gets better. For folks like us watching it drop before we buy in CA it is a good thing. But not so much for sellers. Of course CA RE always turns around at some point. It is just a matter of when.

We are taking a trip to Denver CO in a couple of months to check it out.

I would live in Seattle or Portland, but the wife doesn't like that area much, ditto for where I grew up, NYC area.
