i just moved here, i love it, no gang activity... no crime, just nice happy people, good neighbors. in fact, we left our garage open over night, and nothing was stolen. I moved here from Benicia, CA a very nice town, and i have to say i love it here even more than Benicia, minus the ****ty traffic onHWY 4 it's a great town. No Norteno's here... that made me laugh.... i really think we will not see any gang activity in disco bay because it's mostly all owner occupied, and i don't notice section 8 people here, why would an owner want to rent a disco bay home on the water to a section 8 renter when they can vacation rental it out for so much!! the home next door to me rents for 2700 on a 6 month lease. i love this town and am very happy with my move, my neighbors and the small town community feel of Disco!! loving the Delta life!!!!

Some people have to be scared of something, or they just don't feel right, might as well be a bunch of kids as anything else, at least there ain't no Mooslims moving in.

Not surprised to hear about the possible gang activities in Discovery Bay it was only a matter of time. Thank you for informing the rest of us. I am fully aware that the residents will not allow them to remain here. This is a community with money and high positions. This problem will be addressed and dealt with appropriately. Thank you once again.

A few of us have also noticed young boys in late teens early 20s
wearing RED HATS. We have been noticing it more frequently and
wondering are these boys part of some type of Gang? They all seem to
wear RED HATS and hang around each other. Of course we would not dare
approach and ask them directly, but we are curious if anyone living in
Discovery Bay knows of any sort of Gangs or Gang Activity in Discovery
Bay.

We are concerned as we have young children playing outside and in the
neighorhood. Any information and advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks much!!!
I guess it depends on where in Discovery Bay you live, and whether your kids go to some of the many schools which require uniforms. But I agree about the color red. After all, it is a traditional Christmas color for our
"old lady," sweaters and I assure all who live in any of the gated and those with less security that concerned people can go to the Sheriff's substation.
And I am personally against any busses in the gated community. Our streets are narrow and we would lose complete control of who enters and leaves, and how long they stay. Not to mention the NOISE. On our street, it is pretty cool that most people just know that on the weekends, nap time is between 1300 hrs and1600 hrs and while we love animal and bird life, we DO NOT ever want busses way out here. This why we live here- to have peace and quiet. It is 1.4 miles to Safeway from the Discovery Bay and Golf Club (and the same distance back) and they will even deliver your groceries if you cannot drive. But NO THANK YOU for the BUS.If you need a bus, please live nearer to a bus line. This is a quiet, agricultural area with the bare minimum of what we need and the majority of us are quite delighted. P.S. I do not believe that a County Bus would even fit through our gate and it would not get enough business to support itself.
