Question American Canyon vs Vallejo

I've read there is a significant level of crime in Vallejo. Does that spill over into American Canyon?

From what I gather, not really. American Canyon, I think, is comprised of newer tract homes and has a much lower crime rate compared to Vallejo. Someone who actually lives there will correct me where I'm wrong, but that's my take on the place.

I have lived in AC for over 6 years and have never worried about crime. I do take basic precautions like locking my doors but I certainly don't live in fear. I talked to one of our police officers about this one day and he told me that we do have some crime spillover from Vallejo but it is mostly the mischeivous stuff and nothing too serious. That said, there has been a lot of commercial development on the highway, including a Super Walmart since I moved in and this may bring with it some issues.

American Canyon is very safe. Vallejo on the other hand not so much. What makes it worse is that Vallejo is relatively small and the area's that have the crime seem to be spreading, especially the area around Marine World (Crestside).
