He may not be a racist but he's a fool that goes out of his way to pretend that racism doesn't exist. People like him give racists the chance to say, see we have a black guy friend we can't be racist. He's a token uncle tom and can't even see it . My problem with all this: he seems to think or he wants to think all republicans are racist...This irritate the heck our of me...I can assure you, I am not a racist nor are my kids, they are all republicans...I have lots of friends, black, white, hispanics etc that believe in the right wing agenda...I know nothing about this guy, I could care less, I just hate generalization.s By the way, I sorta like Jindal, but he is young, inexperienced and only time will tell...

stars and bars, 1998 in Jasper, TX was the last incident of lynching in the United States and I believe the name of the victim is McClelland. Also, now a days there is no company that has to hire on the basis of race. Whites are not overlooked for jobs. When Affirmative Action was in play that use to be some what the case but you had to be doing business with the government. With government contracts now a days it says that a contractor with the government (if they want the contract) should be doing business with a minority group which means a lot of things and not just black people. It also means women businesses. But as always one must be qualified. So I am sorry but I don't believe that you were turned down for a job because you are white.

45 years ago is not a long time but I was referring to the past and present. If you were not judge for employment, place of residence, where you eat (for example Denny's), what you can buy (Cadillac) with the color of your skin I don't expect you to have any sensitivity to the issue.

In terms of metal dectectors at schools I didn't go to one that had one nor does it have one today. Schools where kids shot up the place on the East now have metal dectors and I believe the school is predominatley white. Metal dectors at schools just means that there is a safety concern for teachers and their pupils and not because a school is all black or all white.

Many people like you tend to be experts on what you think versus what you know. Which is very sad. Just because something hasn't happened to you doesn't mean that it doesn't happen.

I agree not all republicans are racist. I have republican friends who are "Financial" republicans because they make a certain amount of money. That is a ridiculous thing to say, however I would say the majority of them are insensitive to racial issues and think everybody should just "Get over it". There is a sense that the right thinks we are on a level playing field.
