Kinda halfway in between Sacramento area and Chico, a little closer to Sacramento actually. It's an old, small town in the foothills, in the "gold country". Kind of a quaint old historic town. Also it is right next to Grass Valley they kinda run together.

Ruby is on a distinguished road
Nevada City is at least two hours away from Chico and probably that far from Sacramento (considering the traffic). It's a pretty little town that has managed to keep its historical charm. It is also expensive.

I agree. It is expensive. Me and my wife vacationed there about 4 years ago. back then it was quaint, cute, and seemingly authentic. We returned last year and low and behold- candle shops and Bimmer galore.

I wish I had moved there 30 years ago. It is truly one of the finest communities of people in the country.
