looking for British social Networks in Valencia/LA (Santa Monica: neighbourhood, living in)

Does anybody know of any groups or societies where expats from the UK can meet and socialise. i am in Valencia but from the few brits i have met in my neighbourhood say that Santa Monica is a good place to start! anyone have any other suggestions?

I am a Brit living in the Valley. Go to www.meetup.com and type in the search box Brit or just Brits and the zip code you live in. You will have to join (no fee for joining meetup). The actual group may charge a fee for when they have big events. Tons of Brits leaving in Santa Monica, Brent Wood and in the Valley.

I hope you have better results than I did when trying to find British specialty gourmet cooking ingredient stores. All the stores I could find were out of business. Was looking for demerara sugar, said to be an ingredient favored by the Brits, and never found it. It seems to be a rare and rather tasty version of sugar, much like the relationship of sea salt to commercial salt.

British cuisine... uh, nevermind.
