Sorry, these are at DisneyWorld!! I thought they were at Disneyland.

But just FYI.

Star Wars™ Weekends

Star Wars: Jedi Training Academy

It looks like Disneyland does have the Academy (looks like everyone can watch, only some get chosen to be in the show though).

Don't know about web site charts, but no matter what time of year our family went to Disneyland, it always seemed like the lines were long. Unlike other parks such as Magic Mountain, Disneyland seems like it can pack people in all year around, as far as I remember.

If you're considering November, how about late November (early December)? The best time I remember Disneyland was when the Christmas decorations and theme were up! Disneyland seems like they know how to decorate for Christmas

Since Disneyland grew into two parks, it takes two days minimum to see both sides. If you only have one day, see the original side.

Legoland was fun when our kids were 6-8. It helps if your kids are into Legos. They liked the Imagination Zone the best. Don't know if they still have the Mindstorms robotic challenge (it's been a while since we've been there), but it was great (intro into Lego Mindstorms robotics). Agree that there's not much else in the immediate area, but depending upon how you're getting around, did you consider going to the Scripps Birch Aquarium down the road a bit?

Since you're in the area, did you consider Universal Studios, or is that out of the way / not your cup of tea?

If you're thinking of going to Legoland, there IS one other attraction that you may want to look up, IF you go there during the summer.

North of Legoland, in Vista CA is the Wave Waterpark. The park is somewhat small and by itself may not seem like much. But it's main feature is the "Flow Rider" surf simulator (Google it), which is REALLY cool! Our family had a blast at that place just for that ride alone! When we went to Legoland, we did the Wave Waterpark, Legoland, and then the Birch Aquarium in a couple of days. If you find a hotel near Legoland, all three are within EASY driving distance (well, at least for CA drivers ).

I think you're smart to go in November instead of during spring break. You will have much less crowds to deal with at that time. There's a Star Wars ride at Disneyland as well as a show called the Star Wars Training Academy, in which volunteers get to train and eventually light saber battle with Darth Vader or Darth Maul. If he's only really interested in Star Wars, then you could probably do Disneyland in one day. If you have extra time, though, it would be ideal to have probably 2 days to get to see and experience more at Disneyland. Our family are huge Disney fans and we have annual passes, so if you need any tips, you can send me a message.

Legoland is really cool for Lego fans, but it can be done in one day, IMO. They have a new aquarium next door (additional admission fee) that I haven't tried out yet that you may be interested in.

Good luck, and have fun.

I think you'll enjoy the area around Carlsbad; there are some nice beach towns (I really like Encinitas, which is south of Carlsbad) in that stretch along PCH north of San Diego. Maybe you could do Disney, then come south to the area around Legoland, spend a day unwinding and just hanging out on the beach, or maybe taking the train into San Diego, then do Legoland. San Diego is a great city, and if you're into theme parks and formal attractions you could also go to Sea World or the San Diego Zoo.

As much as I absolutely love LA, if you have limited time you might be best off just forgetting about seeing LA on this trip. Fly in, go to Disneyland, then head south to Carlsbad and San Diego and spend the rest of your time there. There will be more than enough to keep you busy, and you're less likely to get burned out by trying to pack in too much stuff in too little time.

Have you thought about Knott's Berry Farm? Not as big as Disney, but just a hop, skip & a jump away in Buena Park.

If you're in that area, you may also want to consider Medieval Times as well. We went there once, and it was "one of those things everyone should experience once" type of thing.

For Legoland, bring some swim trunks and a towel. A portion of the park is a waterpark type area. It is a one day visit, maybe even less depending on crowd.

Disneyland is 2 days. California Adventure is one park, maybe a halfday visit, and Disneyland itself is probably a 1-2day visit.
