Newsom is an empty suit. Here's hoping Jerry Brown is our once and future governor. .

How about past and future governor? I like Brown and look forward to his leadership if he runs.
I was also disappointed that Matt Gonzales lost to Newsom but look forward to a socialist mayor soon.

Some choices
Since there is no strong Republican candidate in sight at this time, the next governor will very likely be a Democrat.Feinstein would be a lock if she runs, but why would she leave a commitee chairmanship in the senate to take over Californias mess? That leaves the three considered to be front runners at this time.We have a Bolshevik,a former gang banger, and an old hippie.Heaven help California.

From what I've heard, Meg Whitman is the only Republican candidate thus far.
And she's too far on the right for anyone in California to elect...

George Deukmejian is making a comeback. He complains bitterly that after 8 years in office, people still don't know how to properly spell his surname. He's coming back to give us all a reminder and will stress the importance of spelling in basic reading skills for public education.

That would be funny if Gavin Newsom ran as the Democratic candidate...he would lose quite badly.

stranger things have happened:: who would have thought a year or so ago, Obama would get the nomination over Hillary and who would have thought some of the most republican precincts would end up voting for him??
You seem to forget not all democrats are liberal, not all approve of his life style and not all will get out the vote..Time will tell, it is way to early to predict..
If the way one is registered if the guideline how did Ca end up with the governor they now have??
