well if you'd like to be involved with the church still there is no better way to find out where to go than to ask your church i would say. there is a decent LDS presence in the LA basin that should be helpful

I would probably check with your church...you will find that no one is going to care that you are mormon or any religion in L.A. It's not an issue. There aren't special housing areas like there are in the Utah college systems..

Check craigslist. Its still the biggest and easiest way to find a place. I'll ask my buddy if his condo near Pepperdine is available. Maybe you could get him to go back to church more too. I tried, but not much luck.

What does your religion have to do with the question? I've never seen an "I'm an atheist and I'm looking for housing" post!!

you know that is a pretty good point..I thought it was a little strange she would mention that but didn't think of posting. Maybe she was thinking about a place near church..I don't know????

I went to Pepperdine!

There are several apartment complexes around the campus, just drive around and visit the management offices.

This is the best answer. Look for the ward or stake website of the area you'll be moving to and call them.

You may even consider the Oxnard area. I have known several couples that have attended the campus while living in Oxnard. We have 4 English speaking wards and 2 Spanish speaking wards. From Oxnard south on the Pacific Coast Highway you can be at the Pepperdine Campus in about 35 minutes. I can drive to the LA Temple in 55 minutes on a good day driving the coast route. Don't be too concerned if you are wanting to get even closer to the campus. This isn't Utah, but we do have many members of the Church in Southern California.
