Bringing dog to california?
Bringing dog from another state to California, is there any special papers or anything I have? I remember driving in on I-10 before and they have a car check for vegetables and stuff...

I moved back to CA with a dog from AZ. No questions asked. Well, asides from the standard, "Are you bringing any fruits or vegetables?"

Alright awesome, I was googling around and not able to find anything, but remember they wondered if I had vegetables, so I figured having a damn boxer in the back of the car might be a little more dangerous, what if he ate some vegetables you know? I sometimes give him bananas.

they look for parasites on the agricultural products mostly to protect the agr industry here. Anything your dog ate probably died in his stomach already or if they survive, isn't likely to spread plant diseases.

I've moved to and from CA several times and always take my cats to the vet first to get required shots (rabies, etc.) and certificate which I keep in glove compartment during travels.
Many states have laws against bringing an animal across state lines without the proper paper work. Whether someone stops you and asks to see the papers is another matter.
I don't specifically remember the CA rules, but it's hard to imagine they don't regulate it.
I say better safe than sorry.

Yeah she is completely up to date but adopted her from one of my fathers work colleagues about 2 hours from we are now last month. All the stuff at the vet over there... just trying to avoid that if possible and wait to get it faxed to next vet when we can.
