Default Lompoc air quality

My wife and I are considering moving to Lompoc but have been reading about serious health issues there caused by pesticide use. Can anyone tell me how much of a problem this is and if the EPA is doing anything about it. Also what is the general air quality in Lompoc? Have noticed haze being reported by the National Weather service the last couple of days. What would cause that if there is not a lot of automobile traffic there? Any information on this would be greatly appreciated and God Bless.

Lompoc gets really windy. It is surrounded by agriculture, so I guess that is where the pesticide reference is from. Due to the wind, the haze you mention is usually fog blown in from the ocean or dust from the surrounding area. Make sure you visit this city before you move here, as its known as the armpit of the central coast.

I live in Lompoc and yes, it is fog/marine layer blown in. It is NOT
the armpit of the central coast. Thank you very much!
Our health is fine here. DM me if you want more info thats accurate.

My grateful thanks to Axxlrod and Greenchili for responding to my post. We will be visiting soon. Thank you for the info on the haze and I guess the pesticide issue is not serious or you that live there would have said something about it. Thanks again.
