You're wrong again. The year before 2006-2007 is when 220,000 people moved into Texas from other states and that included the influx of people due to hurricane Katrina. Also, you may be interested to know that last year Texas added the most new jobs of any state. It added 67,000 MORE jobs than California which was the number two State.

Also, last year Texas was the number one state for domestic migration and California actually had more people leave the state than move into the state (which should make you happy). As I mentioned before, that 0.8% population increase was due mainly to immigration and new births.

Actually, we're both right. I just realized we're talking about two different sets of numbers. You're talking about the number of people moving in ...

I'm talking about the NET number of people moving in ... minus the number of people moving out.

The NET figure is more accurate because people also move out of state ... not just people who move in.

From 2000-2004 ... 36,000 NET moved to the state of Texas every year, according to the Census Bureau.
