I agree. It's like that line in "This Town" from the Go-Go's ..... "...bet you'd live here if you could and be one of us ..."

I see it like a divorce. People split from each other & yet hope the other is miserable. Most who end up leaving California tend to be very conservative\ Republican-types who can't grasp that their way of thinking is not acceptable to most Californians

Not me. I love California, northern and southern. Were it feasible, I would move there in a second. Great place, although yes, the state politics are a bit mad.

I like to say the state politics are unique...instead of mad. I think there is a lot of good intention with the policies, however, not everyone is going to like everything about it though.

Ha, dream on!
My wife and I still visit relatives and relatives regularly in SoCal. Everytime we go, honestly we are dying to leave after seven to ten days. Heck, just being on those freeways scare me now, either people driving like madmen at 80 - 90 mph, even when it's raining (CHP included), or five lanes at a dead stop for miles. AARRGGHHH!!!!
We do miss the wide variety of food, I will give you that. Particularly all of the ethnic food. My wife and I always have a detailed list of all of our favorite eating places to hit on the trip. We even take stuff home with us! No Tommy Burgers or Olive Garden up here!

Hey you said it in your own words...you still need validation:

It's not about needing validation. It's more about getting additional validation every time the subject comes up. It reminds me of a job I had once. Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse, it did. After I finally left, I'd occasionally talk to people who still worked there and everything I heard reinforced my decision. Things indeed continued to get worse.

No, you were trying to imply that I still missed CA

You are darn right my decision is validated every time I go down there. Unless you think that sitting on a freeway with ten million other cars should somehow be a positive inducement for wanting to live there?

Just remember when it gets better, don't come crying for your job back!

If traffic is your gripe, then you must hold disdain for many places around the world.
Hey Moose enjoy your bashings, here's to wishing your recovery process well.
