The whole state isn't like that. I don't sit in traffic until I get into the IE or LA/OC. I sat in more traffic in San Antonio, TX than I've ever sat in here in CA.

I sat in more traffic around the belt in Washington D.C. than I ever have in California. Shoot, Orlando FL has more traffic problems than Silicon Valley.
If you really don't like traffic then move to a city with mass transit or off to the country!

Hate California and Californians? No, not ALL of the State, and not ALL of the people.
Do I detest the Californians who moved into the Flathead Valley in Northwestern Montana, and ruined it for the people who live there? Yes, it is a bad thing when the place where you grew up has been overrun by people who are trying to remake it into CA NE. We can't stand to go "home" anymore, it isn't "home"!
For example, the guy driving a car with CA plates on it, who circled a friend's home near Kalispell several times, then parked in the drive and came to the door. When my friend answered the door, the guy says "I like your house, how much?" When told it wasn't for sale, the guy said something like "I'll give you 1.5 times the appraised value!" My friend said he wouldn't screw over his neighbors like that, but the guy didn't want to take "NO" for an answer. Sure, it isn't right to paint ALL CA people with the same brush, but hey, that's the way it is, deal with it.
There was even a bumper sticker prevalent in the area that said "let's don't Californicate Montana".
Sadly, it happened anyway.
As for moving to the State, you don't have to worry about this ol' boy ever doing something that crazy! We have been there twice, on contract, 3 to six months each. Once on the coast, and once in the mountains. California is the only place I have ever been where people drive 60 to 70 MPH in a snowstorm. Downhill, and around curves, at that!
I won't live in a State where there is BOTH a sales tax AND an income tax, and they STILL can't balance the budget!
There is more, but that is enough from this old transplated Pennsylvanian.

Hate California? not at all. The land and natural surroundings are beautiful and i could only dream of living there, but due to the cost of housing and the bent racism in California, I don't live there. When i moved out of California to Arizona, the state i was born in, my redneck co-workers would call me gay or homosexual because i was from California.

They only called you those names because they were trying to deflect that persona off themselves!

I wonder how many Californians even read threads in other state forums? Who would spend so much time criticizing a state they don't even live in & for many, have never been to California.
Seems like close to half the posters in the California forum don't live here yet many share their hate for our state over and over again.
Why is it that non-Californians seem to be so involved in our state's affairs & gladly toss in their ugly comments about our great state?

because many people do not like california's political views...... LIBERALS (DEMOCRATS)

Yep, I visit this forum on occassion as I'm a Ca native but left in 2001. Maybe many of the people you are referring to are former residents?
