My house has sold so I'll be arriving in Santa Cruz the beginning of July, probably. Looking to rent and give myself some airy leisure to explore the communities. I am intrigued by Aptos and will look around!

Love Santa Cruz
I lived in Santa Cruz for the last 6 years and loved every minute. Granted, I was lucky enough to find a great affordable living situation, but if you can afford it, it is a wonderful town.
If you need any tips on restaurants/entertainment options or a brush up on Santa Cruz history visit:

We live in Santa Cruz, and our kids just looked at mobile home parks to purchase. They ended up purchasing a 2BD/2BA condo in Aptos, CA.
While there are many mobile home parks in Santa Cruz, currently there are only 2 parks in S.C. that are "land-owned" (you own the land your trailer sits on). They are more exensive to get into, but increase in value substantially quicker (~$50K a year). The park in Aptos that is land-owned Aptos Pines. It is a nice park and family friendly. The only other land-owned park is in Capitola, on Rosedale Ave or Plum Street, (can't remember the name), is a beautiful park but tends to be a bit stringent in it's rules and regulations.
Mobile home space rent can be anywhere from $250 up to $600 just to rent the space, in non-owned parks. This does NOT include your mobile home mortgage. Currently, the best choice is to buy a land-owned mobile home at either of the two parks - the interest rate is much lower, 6.5%. Interest rates on a mobile home in a "co-op" owned (group owned) park begins at around 8% to 10%.
Hope this helps! Feel free to contact us at asolutions@got.net if you need.
God bless!

Aptos is my favorite town in the county of S.C..
I've lived in S.C. county for many years and i love it. I was born in California but lived for many years in New England ... Vermont, N.H. and MA.
I had to get out of New England and return to California and Santa Cruz is a wonderful place to be ... yeah, all the problems that everyone has everywhere to lesser and greater degrees but i'm grateful to be here.
I lived on a property a few years ago with the main house, a large guest house rental and a lot that was rented out to a mobile home owner.
So that may be another option unless you need to live in a trailer park.
There are some really beautiful properties and often the owner needs some extra income. It would potentially allow you to be in some wonderful s.c. nature if that's something that you would like.
I see ads for lots for rent now and then so you might wanna check out craigslist (S.C. in now included in the S.F. Bay Area).
