Vote yes if you want to pay more in taxes, vote no if you are paying plenty now.

You're already paying the taxes anyways, 2 more years to get a spending cap and rainy day fund that is badly needed is a worthwhile compromise imo. But Californians seem very opposed fundamental change with how the state is run but keep complaining about how its run, so I guess they like to complain, not support any needed changes, then keep complaining about the budget process.

The state BARELY passed the redistricting effort this time around, which was needed a long time ago, despite the fact we complain about our partisan lawmakers and keep reelecting them. We complain about spending but apparently do not want a spending cap.

Most of these props will likely fail and CA will be in the same position its always in and we'll continue with our roller coaster budget process. Same crap, different year.

It is sorta of strange that things like medical marijuana get passed overwhelmingly the first time it was proposed in 1996 but the redistricting just barely won & the usual representatives get voted back into office over & over again. Every proposition to spend more money are also approved each year by the voters. I really don't think Californians understand that we either live with a budget or just keep increasing taxes [and more spending seems to always win

For more than a decade I've voted NO on every ballot measure or proposition that would increase taxes. I plan to continue doing that for the foreseeable future.

The government is going to have to cut some of the social programs if they want to balance the budget. Or at least I'm doing everything I can to cause that to happen.

We're already paying too much in taxes, and that's even before the 1% sales tax increase.

I am with Lovehound on this. Why not cut expenses? Why not eliminate waste. You can't sit there and say that you don't see any waste in how the state is run can you?

I dunno, I guess no one has ever thought of that idea before. If only it was that easy and simple. But I guess people in Ca prefer to cut off their own nose to spite their face, so be it.....

I thought a spending cap was a good idea to help cut waste and expenses but apparently not according to most voters.

This has more to do with just waste and expenses but how screwed up CA's revenue stream is, it's too volatile and needs a rainy day fund and spending cap to help mitigate that imo.

There's no point on giving them more money until they learn to spend what they're getting effectively. It's like learning to live on less food. You're going to focus on what's important if you have limits.

Giving politicians more money is like giving drug addicts more drugs.
