I do not question that you have friends who are gay or hispanic. I don't think anyone called you racist or a homophobe.

I am certainly not judging yesterday as today as I know what goes on in AR as we speak. But let's face it, what happened in Little Rock was not that long ago and those viewpoints do not die overnight. While Mississippi might beat AR in the racist department, AR is not too far behind.

If CA is better than AR is a matter of preference in my opinion. No other state is like CA, while not perfect it fits me better than any other state.

I am certainly not saying AR is better than Ca or visa versa..Every state has a special charm, and every state is right for certain people. I just get a little tired of people from Ca and Tx as a matter of fact thinking there is no place on earth as wonderful as their state. State pride is one thing, blindness is another.

Of course no one could or should forget Little Rock and yes, thing change slowly, but they do change and 50 years ago was not yesterday...I am the first to admit, there are still small towns, rural areas of AR that are thinking 50s, but there are those towns in Ca as well, and NY and NM,etc.

I am neither from CA or TX, nor do I think that one state is more "wonderful" than another. Nevertheless, to say that AR is similar to most other states in matters of racism is certainly a matter of "blindness."

Little Rock was 42 years ago. I would never say that things do not change; however, matters of prejudice do not "go away" in one generation. There is a disapportionate numer of racists in AR compared to most states, if you have not seen that I do not know what to tell you.

Does CA have racism? Absolutely! But the majority of that ignorance comes from people who cannot separate their feelings between illegal immigration and racism. Nevertheless, racism on a scale in CA would NEVER compare to that in AR, apples and oranges my dear honey, apples and oranges!
