The best thing about voting in any election is that it gives you griping rights if you don't like the results. If you haven't voted then you literally don't count!

I agree, it doesn't really seem like he is trying that hard to get them passed as with his previous special election. Maybe b/c he figures its going to turn out the same and nothing will change, like usual, with this state.

If that's how the governor feels then he is being a jerk. That's his job to communicate & convince the voters. Just because every one of his first initiatives failed 3 years ago when he campaigned up & down the state doesn't mean he should give up. Does Schwarzenegger think that if he doesn't press these new propositions that they will be passed, this time?

Yeah, that's definitely the type of mindset I want my governor to have...

Possibly since his approval ratings are so low.

Know lots of affluent people (in CA, NYC and rest of US) who refuse to even register to vote, as voting is a waste of time and effort for most taxpayers
Taxation without representation...top 1% pay ~40% of all taxes but only use <5% of gvt "services" and have 1% of vote
Many "vote" by where they choose to move their careers, businesses and employees if they feel local taxes are unreasonable....can donate to whichever lobbyists or politicians, so they consider any special issues that one cares about

I just don't get why more people don't blame the legislature when they've been in office longer than Arnold. We continue to have the same problems no matter who our governor is yet we keep blaming the governor and give the legislature a free pass.

He had the support of an adoring populace and he used it to promote reckless spending. And now he is packaging spending cuts with unpopular tax hikes. He consistently fails to put the money where his mouth is, and for someone who professes to like a smaller government, he's not doing much to make that a reality.
