Most people that work "HIGH end" as you call it commute down the hill into the Ontario/Chino area....not that there is "HIGH end" there....but it's the closest.
What the OP is asking for point blank is a "Miracle in California" which is not going to happen...especially now.
Good luck to you OP.

Sorry if I came on strong. It is just I see so many people saying "oh you can probably do this or that" and I would rather tell them "no you can't" you are right, I doubt the family could ever find anything for what they can afford and find jobs that pay enough to support them, but certainly now, they can not. In fact $80,000 doesn't buy much anywhere unless they want to settle on a very small farming type town probably in AZ or NM. I am not even sure Vegas could give them what they want in a safe neighborhood for their little girl.
Like you, I wish them good luck and hope they will research a few other states.

Honestly, I can't think of anyplace in CA that you could live for that little money, and have enough of a population to start a business. When looking check airnow.gov to compare air pollution stats. If you have severe asthma, stay away from the San Joaquin Valley.

Boron is very boring, although I enjoy the desert scenery. There's what, 100 people who live there? And maybe all but 10 of them retired and old?

It's probable that most controversial first posts with no follow up posts are probably trolls.
I'm required to post the following image for all troll posts.
I'll post a retraction if the OP makes 25 posts.

Hi,
I have lived in California my whole life and we do not have what you would call dry weather. Allergies here run rampant especially with asthmatics the air pollution as a major factor for allergy triggered asthma. As for work here we are the highest Unemployment rate in the nation. We also have been suffering a long standing drought for 30 years and now have to have water rationed and people will have to start paying very high prices for it. It is VERY expensive to live here. Unless you are upper middle class with plenty of money dont move to Calif. Also taxes and small businesses cannot last with all the red tape put upon them from the city. Sorry I dont have better news, but I thought I should let you know the major issues.
