I find this very interesting that Santa Clara County is up there as one of the fastest growing counties. I expected to see those Central Vally and inland counties, but Santa Clara County is a surprise since it has such a high cost of living.

It's also quite a bit lower than it was last year, so a lot of people who were priced out aren't any longer..

It looks like Riverside County, relatively speaking, is finally slowing down. Two decades of growth out there and lots of challenges to adjust to a drop in housing starts.

I'd estimate that when you include illegal aliens, the Greater Bay Area now exceeds 8M, and the Greater LA Area / Southland has over 16M. The state has probably in fact popped 42M if not higher. So, if we are going the way of the Rust Belt, but yet growing, it means illegals plus legal immigrants, plus their fecundity, is the only real source of net growth. I reckon with the high unemployment, we'll see a peak soon, and overall population will start to decrease. Who wants to immigrate to the place with no jobs?

Now California has three cities with over 1 million, just like Texas.
