Hi everyone,

I have a question. Hopefully someone who knows Fresno can answer it for me. I was born in Fresno & the address on my birth certificate is 1480 N. Berton in Fresno. Is this still a street or is it just misspelled on the b/c.?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me.

It's probably Barton, not Berton.

Yup, Barton. Between Cedar/Maple and Olive/McKinley.

That's just North of where my cousin lived on Floradora. It looks like 1480 N. Barton suffered the same fate as her place... razed due to freeway construction.

Yes, you are correct. From looking at google maps, the address is in the middle of a street now. It was nice seeing the area tho.

God Bless!

Probably Barton. Without looking up the address, I'd say the former University Medical Center, previously Valley Medical Center.

edit: Just looked at a map. Could it have been a private home?

It was our address that was on my b/c. It looks like Berton but no doubt misspelled since there's no Berton street that I could find. However, I did find the Barton address & looking at google earth map (which is a cool 3D map), the place it showed looked like the middle of the street.

If you haven't already, go to Google Earth, it's cool. You can see alot of addresses. I looked up my sisters address in Missouri & saw the front of her apt building. It's neat to "travel" the earth this way. Just enter an address or city, state & it'll take you there.
