I would never live in the desert. Its bad enough here. I prefer cool summer nights (60,s) compared to 70,s/80,s in the low & high desert. The summer daytime highs in the desert are horrid. The air is thick & its just nasty. To each his/her own though. Some like it & some dont.

I couldn't live in Palm Springs or anywhere in the lower desert, sorry! I went to Vegas one time in August, in a car that had no a/c , and nearly died. And Vegas is in the high desert!!! When it "cools down" to 90 degrees at night, that's still too warm for me! Phoenix is indeed worse, though; I've seen on the Weather Channel when Phoenix is still 100 degrees at midnight! No thanks... Even if it's a dry heat, it's still HOT.

Yeah its hot but you know its hot everywhere in the southwest, even LA, Riverside, unless you are lucky enough to live near the ocean, its gonna be hot..you just plan accordingly..do your errands early or late...enough folks live here full time so it must not be a deal breaker for everyone.

Whatever floats your boat, so they say..

We have vastly different ideas of "sweet zones". For myself, it would be 62 to 78 - - and I'd rather be in 50 degree weather than 90 degree weather (and I'd rather be in 32 degree weather if that 90 comes with a dew point of mid-50s or above). Even with dry heat, I'm on the original poster's side - - couldn't do it.

And you live in Spring Valley? You should be living in Monterey or Mendocino.

If you could tell my employer that . . .

It's not quite as bad as it sounds - - I live on a pretty big hill and we get really nice breezes most of the year. Outside of the Santa Anas, I'm not cursing my weather situation.
